P-Square, duo, rocked the music industry for a long time. They are the most creative musicians in Africa. Any African young man in their late 20s will tell who the P-Square duo are and what they meant to them in their youth. As much as Nigerians are known to be popular musicians who produce the best African dance music, Paul and Peter Okoye were known to be on top of the game in their times. The two are also recognized internationally, including in the United States of America, since they performed most of their music concerts in the U.S.
Peter and Paul Okoye, Nigeria
Peter and Paul Okoye are twin brothers born on November 18, 1981, in Ambra state of Nigeria. The duo were inspired by Michael Jackson. Their interest and inspiration for music began when they formed an acapella quartet dubbed “MMMPP.” This was insinuated to mean (M Clef, a.k.a. Items, Michael, Melvin, Peter and paul). Their artistic talent in dancing made them perform in schools in the state of Jos.
Peter and Paul Okoye Education
Peter and Paul Okoye returned to school in 1999, where they developed their music skills. They groomed themselves on guitar, keyboard, drums and other skills related to music. The same year the duo joined the University of Abuja to study Business administration. The journey to study made the smooth criminals to be disbanded due to its members joining different universities.
P-square Albums
The first album by P-Square was launched in 2003 and was dubbed Last Nite. Later in 2005, another hit Album that rocked the continent was Get Squared (2005), This was one of the albums that were liked by his fans. Other albums included;

Why P-Square split
The p-Square band has been faced with many controversies. There were rumours that the band was operating from the house most of the time. There has been information that peter had some complaints, stating that most of the songs that were being played on the show were from Paul and this made him avoid anything to do with ‘P-Square’. Peter later moved out of the mansion they were sharing. The twins reached the extent of involving a lawyer in sharing of their wealth since they had mostly invested together.
P-Square Reconcile
The duo had run parallel for a long time, however, they decided to reconcile on 17th November 2021 in public. It is true that blood is thicker than money, the duo shook hands and hugged in Lagos at Peter Okoye’s home both their wives were present during the happiest moment. (Gistmania, November, 2021)
