Christiane Maria Heideh Amanpour, a British-Iranian journalist, and television host, was born on 12 January 1958. Amanpour is the Chief International Anchor for CNN. She hosts CNN International’s interviews held at night (Amanpour program) and is the host of Amanpour & Company on PBS.

Christiane Amanpour was born in west London, in the suburb of Ealing, She was born to Mohammad Taghi (father) and Patricia Anne Amanpour (mother). Her mother was of a catholic denomination, while her father was a Shi’ite Muslim.
Amanpour partly studied and cleared her primary school education from Iran. Later taken to a boarding school in England by her parents when at 11 years. The school was a convent girls’ school (Holy cross convent) based in Chalfont St. peter, Buckinghamshire.

She attended a Roman Catholic school in Chelmsford, called New Hall School when she was 16 years old. Her family went back to England after the Islamic revolution began in Iran perhaps they willingly left. The reason for their return to England was the Iran-Iraq war.
Amanpour later moved to the United States after leaving New Hall, She studied journalism in the U.S. at the University of Rhode Island. She joined WBRU-FM in Providence, Rhode Island where she worked in the News department.

Amanpour became well-known for her reporting on the Bosnian war, which led to her being perceived as a courageous woman. She served as the chief international correspondent and anchor for CNN from 1992 to 2010, when it ran a daily interview program.
