Bob Iger, the CEO of ABC and The Walt Disney Company, was born to a Jewish family in New York City. He is the oldest of Mimi and Arthur Iger’s two sons. His father was a World War II veteran and served as the executive vice president and general manager of Greenvale Marketing. In 1995, Disney purchased Capital Cities/ABC and renamed it ABC, Inc., where Iger remained chairman until 1999.
