Jackman attended Pymble Primary School. Later, he enrolled in Knox Grammar School on Sydney’s upper north coast. In 1986, his remarkable performance earned him the position of school captain. He was a physical education teacher at Uppingham School.
Later, Jackman enrolled at the University of Technology in Sydney to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. In 1991, he received his diploma. He earned extra credit by taking an additional theatre course during his senior year Ackman enrolled in a one-year acting workshop at Sydney’s Actors’ Centre, which he dubbed “The Journey.” Jackman adored acting and considered it his true calling, but he had to finish high school first. He was given a role in the popular soap opera Neighbours, but he declined and went on to Edith Cowan University’s Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, where he graduated in 1994.
