David Muir Biography
David Muir joined ABC News in August 2003. He became the anchor of an overnight program World News Now and an early morning News. He anchored the newsmagazine Primetime in 2006 and later in the morning in June 2007 he became the anchor of World News Saturday. David continued working on different shows where in 2012 he anchored of weekend newscast which was later named world news with David Muir.

In March 2013 he was promoted alongside Elizabeth Vargas as the co-anchor of Abc20/20. In September 2012 he reported on the humanitarian crisis that was caused by Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. He covered the Convention Center and Charity Hospital.
Muir also reported on the Israel-Lebanon border conflict in October 2006, and the war with Hezbollah. The professional journalist also covered the Hamas coup in Gaza in March 2007 where reported from the Gaza Strip.
He was later moved to Peru where he covered an earthquake in October 2007. Peru experienced the largest ever earthquake in the last two decades.
In the 2012 U. S presidential elections, David Muir served as ABC’s lead correspondent. He interviewed the Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. The interview made headlines that generated issues pertaining to economics and immigration policy in the United States.

From 2000 to 2003, Muir worked as a reporter and anchor for WCVB television in Boston. He received the regional Edward R. Murrow Award as well as the National Headliner Award for his outstanding work in investigative journalism reporting. Muir was also awarded by the Associated Press. The reward was obtained as a result of the tracking of the hijackers involved in the attacks on the United States of America on September 11, 2001.

Muir attended Onondaga Central Junior-Senior High School where he graduated in May 1991. While in high school he interned at WTVH-TV in Syracuse. Later, he attended Ithaca college and in May 1995 magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism. His journalism career was inspired by his professor at the college level who inspired him by telling him at some point that he had “the cut of a TV newsman.”
Muir later joined Georgetown University to study political journalism through Fund for American studies but later finished the remaining semesters at the university of Salamanca in Spain with the institute for the international Education of students( David Muir Abc News 2013).
