Graham Phillips (Journalist)Biography
Graham Phillips is a British-American freelance journalist, Youtuber, and documentary filmmaker. Phillips started covering the Russian invasion of Ukraine in March 2022 where he sided with Russia. Phillips has since been deemed to be pro-Russian. He has been criticized for pro-Putin coverage of the war in Ukraine. After videoing captured Briton Aiden Aslin and describing him as a “mercenary” instead of a prisoner of war.

Back in 2014 Mr. Phillips while working for Russia was detained in Ukraine while trying to film facilities that were not allowed to be filmed according to a statement by the Ukrainian defense ministry. Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) has confirmed Mr. Phillips has confirmed the sanctioning of the freelance journalist. The list of individuals who have been affected by the UK sanctions has about 1,100 individuals with more than 100 business entities.
Other restrictions have come into effect such as the prohibition of new UK investment into Russia and the ban of Russian gold into the UK market and even making sure that another formula of finding out who can be sanctioned come into effect.

In the early 2000s, Phillips earned a dual degree in philosophy and history from the University of Dundee. He later relocated to London, where he spent several years working as a clerk for the now-defunct Central Office of Information, reviewing official websites and creating reports for the British Parliament.

Phillips received the «оенкоp» ‘War Correspondent’ medal in Moscow in November of 2020.
According to reports, Phillips won the Medal “Border Brotherhood” on March 1, 2015, from the Border Service, a division of the FSB, Russia’s main security agency. In addition, the separatist republics of Donbas have also given Phillips a number of awards for his journalism, including the Medal “For Merit,” Second Class, given by Igor Plotnitsky, the leader of the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic.
