Shawn Corey Carter, better known as Jay-Z, is an American rapper, record producer, businessman, and the founder of Roc Nation. He was born on December 4, 1969, in Brooklyn, New York. Jay-Z is considered one of the most important hip-hop musicians of all time. He served as the CEO of Def Jam Recordings and helped launch the careers of many successful artists including J. Cole, Rihanna, and Kanye West.
