Jim Jordan officially named James Daniel Jordan is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for Ohio’s 4th congressional district since 2007. Jordan is a registered Republican and a former wrestler and college wrestling coach.
Political Party
Jordan is a founding member of the libertarian House Freedom Caucus. He served as the group’s first chair from 2015 to 2017, and since 2017, he has been the vice chair. From 2019 to 2020, he served as the House Oversight Committee’s ranking member. He left that post to take the ranking member on the House Judiciary Committee, which he held until 2023 when he rose to the position of chair.

Donald Trump’s former president had a good relationship with Jordan. He was subpoenaed by the US House Select Committee on May 12, 2022, however, he has refused to testify in relation to the storming of the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Jordan attempted to undermine investigations into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election when Trump was president and organized a sit-in to block a hearing for an impeachment probe into Trump over the Trump-Zelenskyy telephone scandal. Jordan backed litigation to dispute the election results and voted against certifying the Electoral College results after Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election and Trump attempted to have it annulled.
