Joe Perry Biography
Joe Perry is most known for being a founding member of the rock band Aerosmith as well as its lead guitarist, backing vocalist, and occasionally lead vocalist. Perry is a member of the all-star band Hollywood Vampires together with Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper. He also has his own solo band, The Joe Perry Project.
Perry Project
Following this tour, the band underwent a substantial reorganization, with the departures of Ronnie Stewart, David Hull, and Charlie Farren, as well as the Joe Perry Project being dropped by Columbia Records. Once a Rocker, Always a Rocker, the follow-up album from The Joe Perry Project, was released in 1983 with the addition of three new band members—drummer Joe Pet, bassist Danny Hargrove, and singer Mach Bell—as well as a new record company (MCA Records).
Each of these albums only sold 40,000 copies, which makes them less popular than The Project’s debut. Despite the album’s dismal sales, The Project embarked on a final tour to support it, including former Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford. Throughout this tour, Huey Lewis and the News and The Project worked together on a number of performances.
