Kent Taylor started working as a sports anchor at WLKY in June 2023. Taylor was born in the united states of America and attended Louis High School and the University of Louisville. He started working for WLKY in 1994 as an editor and photographer. Since then, he has covered all the important sports events in his city, like the Kentucky Derby, Final Four, PGA Championship, Senior PGA Championship, and the Ryder Cup.
Over the years, Taylor has received many awards for his work. He has won six AP Kentucky Sportscaster of the Year awards and two NSMA Kentucky TV Sportscaster of the Year awards. He also won an Ohio Valley Emmy Award for his coverage of the Kentucky Derby. Additionally, he has received multiple AP Awards for his work on high school prep shows and play-by-play commentary.
He was the host of a show called “Inside the Cards” which talked about UofL football and basketball. He did this from 2014 to 2022 and also provided commentary for University of Louisville men’s basketball games on the ACC Network Extra.
