Kim Taehyung (born July 18, 1995), better known by his stage name V, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and actor. Born in Daegu, South Korea and raised in Pangyo, Seongnam, Kim was discovered through street casting and joined BigHit Entertainment in 2010.
In 2018, Kim participated in his first acting role in the KBS drama, Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth, which was a commercial success and led to increased recognition from his acting roles in the 2018 KBS drama, Radio Romance and the 2018 Netflix series, Love Alarm. As of 2019, Kim ranked 43rd on the Forbes Korea Power Celebrity list, making him the highest-ranking member of BTS on the list that year. As of 2020, he is the third most followed Korean celebrity on Instagram, with more than 21 million followers.
