Nina Hossain Biography

Nina Hossain is a British Journalist who works for ITV News as a lead presenter. While Mary Nightingale was on maternity leave, Hossain joined ITN as the primary co-presenter for the ITV Evening News on ITV in November 2004.

Nightingale started working as a replacement presenter for ITV London and ITV News after she got back. She also served as a GMTV guest presenter in April 2010, taking Lorraine Kelly’s place on GMTV with Lorraine. Nina is the primary host of ITN’s ITV Lunchtime News. She presided over ITV’s weekly Coronavirus: Q&A from March to June 2020.

When did Nina Hossain begin her career?

She was employed by The Medical Channel as a presenter in 2000. Beginning in 2001, she worked for BBC London News as a reporter and presenter. She took over as the primary presenter of the program when Emily Maitlis left on maternity leave in March 2004.

She was chosen to participate in a traineeship with ITV Border on Lookaround in 1996, where she worked as a news presenter, producer, and reporter.

For the first season of BBC One’s Hard Spell, a children’s spelling competition, she served as the word pronouncer. She played the part again in a special episode of the spin-off Star Spell, but by the time it was a regular series, she had moved to ITV and was replaced by BBC newsreader Mishal Husain, who played the part through the Hard Spell second series and the last season of the original series.
