The previous Hispanic winners were Laura Harring in 1985, Lynnette Cole in 2000, Susie Castillo in 2003, and Nia Sanchez in 2014. After coming in second place at Miss Alabama USA for the second time in a row, she went to Salt Lake City, Utah in April 2023 to try and win the title of Miss Utah USA 2023.
After winning the pageant in Utah, she got to represent Utah at Miss USA 2023 in Reno, Nevada on September 29, 2023. She is the first Venezuelan-American to hold this state title.
