Robert Peston is an English journalist, presenter, and author who was born on April 25, 1960. His original name is Robert James Kenneth Peston. Currently, he is ITV News’ political editor. In addition, he owns a show dubbed “Peston”, a weekly political discussion program (previously Peston on Sunday).

He served as BBC News’ business editor from 2006 to 2014 as well as its economics editor from 2014 to 2015. He covered the financial crisis of the late 2000s, which was done based on his inside knowledge of the Northern Rock crisis. This helped him become popular. He established the educational nonprofit Speakers for Schools.

Late in 2005, it was revealed that Peston will take Jeff Randall’s place as BBC Business Editor, overseeing the organization’s flagship TV and radio news programs, the BBC News Channel, its website, and Radio 4’s Today, which covers business and the City.

Peston married British-Canadian writer Siân Busby in 1998, and the two have a son named Maximilian. They had been friends since they were teenagers, and their friendship was only rekindled when her friend, Peston’s sister Juliet, was taken to the hospital following a vehicle accident.

Busby had been married and divorced and Peston was now the stepfather of her son from that union. Busby passed away from lung cancer in September 2012 at 51.
