Rosemary began her career as a reporter at BBC North West. This is where she covered stories such as “San Francisco’s homeless problem,” “the impact of illegal immigrants on Britain” and “life for ethnic minorities.”

Rosemary was granted an honorary doctorate in recognition of her service as managing editor of the Lancashire Evening Post and editor of the Chorley Citizen tabloid. She began her career as an assistant editor at The Independent in 1988 and worked for many smaller newspapers.
These included Preston & Nelson Herald, Blackpool Gazette, and Blackburn Gazette. She combined her studies of German and French language with English literature. This gave her a great foundation for chances for lifelong learning that have impacted her current job path!
