Since then, Russia has kept annexing Ukrainian territory and sending troops into other regions to support local separatist forces.

Russia is a nation in Europe that borders Kazakhstan to the south, Belarus, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan to the north. It is Ukraine’s friend against Russian aggression, but it also invaded the country when demonstrators who preferred stronger links to Europe over Russia overthrew the government.
Before Georgia, Russia attacked several nations, including Moldova in 2009, the Abkhazia/Georgia/South Ossetia (Tbilisi) region between 2008 and 2012, the Transnistria region between 2006 and 2008, and Eastern Ukraine since 2014—and there may be more to come!

The battle has cost the Russian government billions of dollars in losses from investments, trade, and tourism, as well as in damages. Thousands of Russian soldiers were killed or injured on the battlefields of Ukraine, costing the Russian military billions of euros in equipment and personnel losses. And although Putin’s forces have occasionally been successful (like when they struck Aleppo), they have also encountered difficulties with supply lines that transcend international boundaries into territory that is governed by rebels who are waging war against them.

It is clear that Russia has invaded Ukraine with the intention of annexing Crimea, but it does not seem like they have any plans to leave anytime soon. The conflict has taken a toll on both sides; however, it seems more likely that Russia will win this conflict because they have better weapons and military training than their opponents.
