Guy Vine, a lecturer in civil engineering at North East Surrey College of Technology, and Diana Vine, a homemaker and infrequent doctor’s receptionist, were the parents of Vine. His older brother is the artist Sonya Vine, and his younger brother is the broadcaster Jeremy Vine.

The second series’ six episodes were shown in September and October of 2017. August 2010 saw Vine take home the award for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival’s funniest joke of the year.

Tim’s television program The Tim Vine Fiasco earned him the Perrier Newcomer Award in 1995. At the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, he frequently performed.
