Volodymyr Zelensky is a Ukrainian actor, comedian, screenwriter, film producer, director, and politician. He was born on January 25, 1978, in Kryvyi Rih, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union. He is currently 43 years old.

Zelensky graduated from the Kyiv National Economic University with a degree in law in 2000. Later, he pursued an additional degree in international law at the same institution.

Career

Zelensky began his career in entertainment in 1997 as a member of the KVN comedy team. In 2003, he founded the production company Kvartal 95, which produced comedy shows and films.

Zelensky rose to fame with his role as President Vasyl Holoborodko in the popular Ukrainian TV series Servant of the People in 2015. He played the same character in the 2018 film of the same name.

In April 2019, Zelensky announced his candidacy for the Ukrainian presidency. He won the election by a landslide, becoming the youngest president in Ukrainian history at the age of 41. He was inaugurated on May 20, 2019.
