Andrew Ferguson Neil was born on the 21st of May 1949 in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. He chairs the Spectator. He is a scottish broadcaster and journalist who presents The Andrew Neil Show on Channel 4. Andrew started his career in journalism in the year 1973 The Economist correspondent. Furthermore, Neil has worked with a couple of media firms including The Sunday Times where he was an editor, GB News where he was the chairman, Sky TV where he was one of the founding chairman, BBC News where he presents political programmes.

Career
After his graduation from the University of Glasgow in the year 1971, Neil started his career in journalism in the year 1973. He has worked with different media groups including the Sunday Times, Sky TV, BBC News, GB News. He is known for presenting the popular show on BBC News dubbed The Andrew Neil Show.
Andrew had been an editor for Sunday Times from the year 1983 to the year 1994. His hiring raised a lot of questions since he was appointed over other people like Hugo Young and Brian MacArthur who were way more experience than him. It is reported that Neil was hired by Rupert Murdoch who he later claimed to be a monetarist.
In 1994, Neil left Sunday times though the reason for his removal was not convincing until 2017 when Kenneth Clarke said that it was because of his contradiction with Rupert Murdoch. The contradiction came about when Neil had written about corruption in the Malaysian government of Mahathir Mohamad which did not go well with Murdoch who wanted to acquire a television franchise in Malaysia.
Neil founded Sky TV in the year 1988 and though it was not successful at first due to some stiff competition they endured the hardship. Andrew also worked for BBC News where he presented political programmes-This Week on the BBC One and Daily Politics on BBC Two just to mention a few. Daily retired from BBC News on the 25th of September 2020 and became the chairman of GB News. Andrew later returned to Channel 4.
