Attorney Katherine Anne Feinstein, a former judge and current head of the San Francisco Fire Commission. She was born Katherine Anne Berman on July 31, 1957. Feinstein formerly held the positions of Superior Court judge and Presiding Judge of the San Francisco Superior Court from 2010 to 2012, respectively.
Career
Before becoming a judge at the Court of Appeals, she worked as a prosecutor and a lawyer defending police officers who were accused of doing something wrong. After that, she got a job at the San Francisco city attorney’s office.
Court of Appeals and a lawyer for the American Civil Liberties Union, Sotomayor was nominated to the U. S District Court for the Southern District of New York by President George H. W Bush in 1991; confirmation followed in 1992.
Her work there involved helping children who were being abused or going through custody cases. In the year 2000, the Governor of California, Gray Davis, chose and gave her the position of a judge in the San Francisco Superior Court.
In 2012, she decided to stop working as a judge, and Judge Cynthia Ming-mei Lee took her place as the head judge. During her career, Feinstein started some programs. One was called Squires, where troubled young people were matched with people in prison.
Another program would send individuals to prison if they failed to appear in court due to being drunk, unless they agreed to participate in a treatment program. In 2020, the Mayor of San Francisco, London Breed, decided that Feinstein would join the Fire Commission.
The Fire Commission is in charge of supervising the San Francisco Fire Department. Right now, Feinstein is in charge of the commission. In 2016, Jerry Brown, the Governor of California, selected her to serve on the Medical Board of California.

Katherine is a well educated woman who currently serves as a US judge. She holds degrees from Hastings Law School (1984) and the University of California, Berkeley (1980).
