Jon Snow alias HonFRIBA, an English journalist and television host, was born on September 28, 1947. Jon Snow is currently 76 years as of 2023. He is recognized for being Channel 4 News’ longest-serving host, having done so from 1989 until 2021. Snow announced his departure from the position on April 29, 2021, and his final program aired on December 23, 2021. Despite ITN producing Channel 4’s news programs, Snow worked directly for the network. His birth name is Jonathan George Snow.

Jon Snow is the son of George D’Oyly Snow, Bishop of Whitby, and Joan, a pianist who attended the Royal College of Music. Snow was born in Ardingly, Sussex. He is the cousin of retired BBC television news presenter Peter Snow and the grandson of First World War General Sir Thomas D’Oyly Snow. The Reluctant Tommy. His father served as the headteacher at Ardingly College, where he grew up. Snow attended the Pilgrims’ School for five years after receiving a choral scholarship from Winchester Cathedral. Later, he went to St. Edward’s School in Oxford. He taught in Uganda for a year as a VSO volunteer when he was 18 years old.
After having luck in passing his A-level exams on his first attempt, he transferred to Yorkshire Coast College in Scarborough, where he later earned the credentials he needed to enroll in the University of Liverpool’s School of Law. He was expelled for his participation in a 1970 anti-apartheid socialist student protest, which he later referred to as “an absolute watershed in my life,” therefore he did not finish his undergraduate degree.

After leaving Liverpool, Lord Longford hired Snow to direct the New Horizon Youth Centre. The New Horizon Youth is a day center for homeless young people in central London, an organization with which he has remained involved and of which he subsequently became chairperson. Later, in 1973 he became a presenter on LBC Radio, a then-new commercial radio station.
As an ITN correspondent in 1978, he was sent to Vietnam in November of that year. While in Vietnam he reported on the situation of the boat people. Before taking over as the primary anchor of Channel 4 News in 1989, he worked as the Washington reporter for ITN from 1983 to 1986 and as the diplomatic editor from 1986 to 1989.
In 1992, he became the main anchor for ITN’s election night programme. The program was broadcasted on ITV alongside Robin Day, Alastair Stewart and Julia Somerville. (Previously ITN’s program had typically been presented by Alastair Burnet, who left ITN in 1991. The 1992 election night program was the only one hosted by Snow.
